Maryland FAMLI Webinar: Make Your Plan Before November 15
Have at least one employee working in Maryland? Join Omnia Benefits to understand the new paid leave requirements, what begins in 2027, and how to evaluate a private plan option.
The November 15 deadline applies to a Declaration of Intent for employers seeking the private plan path during Maryland’s 2027 seeding period.
Why Attend?
Maryland FAMLI brings new payroll and insurance decisions for employers. If you have even one employee working in Maryland, this webinar will help you understand the upcoming requirements and identify the next steps for your business.
You’ll also learn why the November 15 Declaration of Intent deadline matters if you are considering a private plan.
What You’ll Take Away
A clearer view of the State Plan, the commercial private plan option, and the questions to ask when comparing costs and coverage. Attendees may request a free private carrier quote from Omnia Benefits.
A quote helps you evaluate an option. It does not guarantee savings or eliminate all program obligations.
What the Maryland FAMLI Webinar Will Cover
Get practical information for planning ahead, whether you expect to use Maryland’s State Plan or want to explore a private carrier.
Who Must Prepare
How the program applies to businesses with employees working in Maryland, including employers with just one Maryland employee.
2027 Contributions
When payroll deductions and employer contributions begin, and why employers should review their payroll processes before 2027.
Private Plan Options
How a commercial private plan may fit into your strategy, what the Declaration of Intent does, and how to request a free quote.
Important Deadline: November 15, 2026
Employers who intend to apply for a private plan in 2027 and seek an exemption from remitting contributions to the State during the seeding period must submit a Declaration of Intent through their Maryland FAMLI account by November 15, 2026.
An accepted declaration does not mean contributions disappear. Maryland requires the employer to collect or fund the applicable 2027 contributions and hold them in escrow while pursuing the private plan application.
Who Should Attend?
This webinar is intended for Maryland business owners, executives, HR professionals, payroll administrators, and anyone responsible for employee benefits or compliance planning.
- You have at least one employee working in Maryland.
- You need to prepare payroll processes for 2027.
- You want to understand the State Plan and private plan paths.
- You are considering a Declaration of Intent before November 15.
- You would like a free quote to evaluate a commercial private plan.
Explore Your Options With Omnia Benefits
The right decision depends on your workforce, the proposed coverage, the costs, and your administrative responsibilities. Omnia Benefits can help you review a commercial private carrier option and provide a free quote so you have more information before deciding how to proceed.
Planning to pursue a private plan? A Declaration of Intent is an early step, not an approved private plan. Maryland states that private plan applications will be due October 1, 2027, and the plan must meet or exceed State Plan benefits and receive approval.
